Building Confidence and Oratory Skills through the Interhouse Extempore Competition at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad

As part of this approach, the Interhouse Extempore Auditions for Middle School students were conducted successfully on 8 and 15 April 2026. The auditions aimed to assess students’ speaking skills, spontaneity, clarity of thought, and confidence while expressing ideas before an audience. Students were evenly distributed across venues, and a range of topics was prepared in advance through topic chits to ensure fairness and variety in participation.

Following the auditions, the Middle School Interhouse English Extempore Competition was held on 24 April 2026 in the school auditorium. The event provided students with a dynamic platform to think on their feet, organise their ideas, and communicate effectively with confidence and conviction.

The competition was adjudged by Ms. Ambica, parent judge and an accomplished writer and speaker; Ms. Vidisha Berry, teacher judge and an experienced MUN debater; and Samreen Arora, student judge. Their thoughtful feedback and encouragement added immense value to the experience for participating students.

Learners showcased enthusiasm, originality, and strong communication skills while presenting their thoughts on a variety of topics. Two winners were selected from each house at every grade level.

The initiative reflected Shiv Nadar School Faridabad’s commitment to experiential and skill based learning by creating authentic opportunities for learners to strengthen communication, self expression, leadership, and confidence in meaningful and engaging ways.
